Gratitude, Grounding, and Gentle Transformation
🍂As the golden leaves settle and the air turns crisp, November invites us into a sacred season of reflection and gratitude. It is a time to slow down, to honor how far we’ve come, and to find stillness in the spaces between moments. Just as the Earth rests before the rebirth of spring, we too are being called to restore our energy, nurture our inner light, and listen to the quiet wisdom of our hearts.
This month, we’ll explore ways to stay grounded, nourish the body and spirit, and cultivate deep gratitude for the abundance that surrounds us. Whether it’s through mindful rituals, crystal healing, or moments of simple presence, let November be your reminder that rest and renewal are acts of love.🍂

🎃Thank You to Our Community!🎃
A heartfelt thank you to Cheyenne Christensen and Trail Head for organizing such a wonderful community event!
A big shoutout to Quail Ridge Golf Course for not only hosting us but also saving the day by letting us set up indoors so we didn’t get rained out.
And of course, thank you to everyone who came out for the kiddos—handing out treats, setting up games, and creating so many fun activities. Your time, energy, and smiles made this event truly special.
We hope you had as much fun as we did and can’t wait to see you all again next year!🎃
A Touch of Ayurveda
Cheyenne here, you may know me from IHWC often behind the front desk helping manage the float center, doing reiki sessions or teaching yoga here and around the community. As of this fall, I have started classes and am working on my BA degree in Ayurvedic Wellness and Integrative Health. Ayurveda holds a wealth of ancient wisdom and teachings.
Ayurveda & the Doshas
Ayurveda, meaning “the science of life,” is the ancient Vedic system of healing that sees health as harmony between body, mind, and consciousness. It teaches that the same elements found in nature—earth, water, fire, air, and ether—also exist within us. When these forces are in balance, we experience vitality, clarity, and peace; when disturbed, we feel dis-ease or imbalance. Ayurveda invites us to live in rhythm with the natural world through conscious nourishment, movement, rest, and awareness.
At the heart of Ayurveda are the three doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha—the inner intelligences that govern all biological and psychological processes.
• Vata (air + ether) is the principle of movement and creativity. When balanced, it brings inspiration and lightness; when aggravated, it can lead to dryness, anxiety, and restlessness.
• Pitta (fire + water) is the energy of transformation and digestion. In balance, it brings focus, courage, and vitality; in excess, it may cause irritability, heat, or inflammation.
• Kapha (earth + water) embodies stability, nourishment, and calm. Balanced Kapha feels grounded and compassionate, while imbalance can create heaviness or stagnation.
From November through February, we enter Vata season—a time ruled by air and space. As the winds grow colder and the days shorter, Ayurveda reminds us to slow down and nourish deeply. Favor warm, cooked foods and drinks, grounding routines, warm oil massages, and cozy rest. This is a season to nurture stillness, warmth, and connection.
Here is Vata balancing tea to keep you warm in this chilly season.
💫Wade's Words of Wisdom:
This month, I want to share something that reaches beyond wellness of the body and into wellness of the soul — words that remind us how love and presence never truly fade. The piece below comes from Colorado’s Poet Laureate, Andrea Gibson — a luminous voice whose poetry has always carried truth, tenderness, and courage in equal measure. Before their passing in July 2025, Andrea left us with a parting gift: a “Love Letter from the Afterlife.”
It’s not just a poem about death, but a meditation on eternal connection — a reminder that love never departs, it simply transforms.
Andrea’s words invite us to see loss through a new lens — not as an ending, but as a widening of presence. “Dying is the opposite of leaving”, she wrote, and somehow, you can feel the truth of that line settle deep in the heart.
In our own lives, may we carry this knowing: every act of love, every kindness, every shared moment continues to ripple far beyond what the eye can see.
So the next time you feel someone’s absence, pause — and listen closely. They may be closer than ever.
