September arrives with a gentle invitation to pause, breathe, and embrace the changing rhythm around us. As summer begins to soften into autumn, nature reminds us that change is not something to fear - it is a beautiful and necessary part of growth.
This is a wonderful time to turn inward and ask yourself:
What do I need more of? What am I ready to release? And where am I being called to grow?
Wellness isn’t about doing everything perfectly. It’s about listening to your body, honoring your needs, and creating space for what truly supports your mind, body, and soul. As the seasons shift, allow yourself to shift too. Let this September be a month of grounding, intention, and gentle transformation.
September Journal Prompt
As the seasons begin to change, take a moment to reflect on the changes happening within you.
What am I ready to release, what am I ready to nurture, & what am I being called to grow into?
You don’t have to have the whole path figured out....sometimes the next step becomes clear when we simply give ourselves permission to pause, listen, and trust.

Within Feminine Care & Embodiment
Introducing Within Feminine Care & Embodiment
I’m so excited to begin sharing a new body of work within the wellness center through Within Feminine Care & Embodiment.
This work has grown from years of tending to women through yoga, birth and postpartum support, energy work, ceremony, and most recently, a deeper immersion into heart and womb-centered practices.
At the center of WITHIN are Heart & Womb Ceremonial Sessions spacious, intentional one-on-one experiences created for women to slow down, soften, reconnect with their bodies, and receive. Sessions may weave together heart and womb connection, gentle supportive care for the feminine body, self-guided practices, breath, movement, meditation, ritual, energy work, and space for whatever is asking to be felt or witnessed.
This work is less about “fixing” the body and more about creating the space to know it, listen to it, and build a deeper relationship with yourself.
Alongside individual ceremonial sessions, Within will continue to grow into offerings for women through feminine movement and embodiment, womb-centered practices, birth and postpartum support, guided self-touch practices, ritual, meditation, and women’s gatherings.
And this October, I’ll be opening the doors to my very first gathering:
The Temple
A woman’s gathering rooted in nourishment and tending to your feminine body.
The Temple is an intimate space for women to gather in sisterhood, step away from the roles we hold in our everyday lives, and return to ourselves. Together we’ll explore practices of feminine nourishment, movement, heart and womb connection, self-guided womb care, ritual, rest, and intentional connection with one another.
This is the beginning of something I have been dreaming into for a long time, and I’m deeply grateful to begin offering it within our community.
Heart & Womb Ceremonial Sessions are now available, call the center to get on the waitlist or learn more about these sessions and The Temple will begin gathering in October.

Hypnosis: Not Mind Control
When you hear the word hypnosis, what comes to mind?
A swinging pocket watch? Someone clucking like a chicken on a stage? Being unconscious—or somehow giving another person control of your mind?
If so, you’re certainly not alone.
Hypnosis has been surrounded by myths and misconceptions for a very long time. But therapeutic hypnosis looks very different from what most of us have seen portrayed in movies, television, or stage performances.
In simple terms, hypnosis is a state of focused attention.
In fact, the definition developed by the Society of Psychological Hypnosis, Division 30 of the American Psychological Association describes hypnosis as involving focused attention, reduced awareness of what’s happening at the periphery of our attention, and an increased capacity to respond to suggestion.
Chances are, you’ve experienced something similar to that kind of focused absorption many times before.
Have you ever become so engrossed in a good book or movie that you temporarily forgot about everything happening around you? Driven a familiar route without consciously thinking about every turn? Or become completely immersed in a project, hobby, piece of music, or daydream?
Those everyday experiences illustrate an important point:
Our brains are naturally capable of shifting the way we focus our attention. Hypnosis intentionally works with that ability.
HYPNOSIS: WHAT IT IS - AND WHAT IT ISN'T
❌ Hypnosis is NOT...
Mind control. You don't surrender your will or give someone else control over you.
Being unconscious. You're generally aware of what's happening and can hear, think, and respond.
Being asleep. Although you may become deeply relaxed, hypnosis is a state of focused attention—not ordinary sleep.
Being forced to reveal your secrets. Hypnosis doesn't turn off your judgment or compel you to say things you don't want to say.
Something only certain “types” of people can experience. People vary in how readily they respond to hypnosis, just as they vary in their ability to become absorbed in a book, meditation, music, or imagination.
Perhaps most importantly...
You don't lose control during hypnosis.
Therapeutic hypnosis is about helping you use your own mind more intentionally, not handing it over to someone else.
|
|
✓ Hypnosis IS...
Focused attention. Your attention becomes more concentrated while competing distractions can become less important.
Collaborative. You and your hypnotherapist are working together toward goals you have chosen.
An opportunity to practice new responses. Hypnosis can help you explore and rehearse different ways of thinking, feeling, perceiving, and responding.
A recognized area of scientific study. Researchers have used technologies such as EEG, PET, and fMRI to study what happens in the brain during hypnosis.
A way of working with abilities you already have. Attention, imagination, learning, expectation, and the brain's capacity to adapt aren't mysterious powers, they're part of being human.
|
But How Can That Actually Help?
Think about your brain as having well-traveled roads.
When we repeatedly think, feel, or respond in a particular way, that route can become increasingly familiar and automatic. That’s incredibly helpful when the pattern is something like tying your shoes or driving a car—but not always so helpful when the familiar route involves worry, fear, self-doubt, unwanted habits, or other patterns we’d like to change.
The remarkable thing is that our brains aren’t permanently limited to the roads they learned first.
Our nervous system has the ability to adapt and change through experience and learning—a capacity known as neuroplasticity.
Put simply:
Your brain can learn a different way.
Hypnosis provides a focused environment in which you can explore and practice different ways of thinking, imagining, perceiving, feeling, and responding.
I like to think of it as creating an opportunity to explore another road.
Perhaps Most Importantly...
You don’t lose control during hypnosis.
Therapeutic hypnosis is about helping you use your own mind more intentionally—not handing it over to someone else.
You remain an active participant throughout the process. A hypnotherapist isn’t putting something mysterious into your mind. The work is collaborative, helping you make purposeful use of your own attention, imagination, internal resources, and capacity for learning and change.
It’s about discovering how much influence you may have over patterns that once felt automatic.
So, if you’ve always been curious about hypnosis but have also felt a little nervous about what it actually involves, you’re welcome to ask questions.
You don’t have to believe in anything mysterious.
You don’t have to give up control.
And you certainly don’t have to cluck like a chicken. 😉
Sometimes understanding how something works is the first step toward no longer being afraid of it.
Curious About Hypnosis?
Questions are always welcome.

Special Pop-up Event: SACRED LIIIGHT
ROOTED IN LIGHT • Pacific Northwest Tour 2026
Ceremonial Cacao • Holy Fire® Reiki • Sacred Sound Immersion • Neuro Light Therapy • Human Design
Seven years later, Sacred Liiight returns to the Pacific Northwest, where so much of their journey first took root. It was during their 2019 tour through the PNW that Evelyn & Dru Ali first encountered the Ajna Light…planting the seed for an exploration of light-based technologies that would profoundly shape their path and the evolution of Sacred Liiight. Now, as part of their Rooted in Light PNW Tour 2026, that journey expands into new territory as Sacred Liiight arrives in Baker City for the very first time. We’ll come together at Integrative Health & Wellness Center for a deeply immersive wellness experience weaving healing arts, nature technologies, light & sound to explore deeper states of consciousness.
THE EXPERIENCE:
Ceremonial Cacao
A heart-centered ritual with ceremonial cacao to invite presence, connection & intention as we begin the journey. A sacred pause to honor the moment.
Holy Fire® Reiki Meditation
A guided Self-Reiki practice followed by the Ocean of Holy Love Healing Experience for deep relaxation, renewal & energetic restoration. No prior experience is required.
Sacred Sound Immersion
Crystal singing bowls, sacred instruments, live vocals & ambient electronic soundscapes woven together into a deep listening experience.
Neuro Light Therapy
A rare pulsed-light technology, one of only a few hundred in existence worldwide, supporting brain wellness, neuroplasticity & expanded states of awareness. No two experiences are alike.
Human Design Contemplation
An exploration of the current Human Design transits and the themes they invite us to contemplate. A space for personal reflection as we close the journey.
THE DEEPER EXPERIENCE
What does it mean to become rooted in our own Light?
Perhaps it isn’t about becoming something more, but growing deeper into what has always been there. Beneath the noise, conditioning, expectations & stories we carry is something more essential…our own nature, our own rhythm, our own Light. There is no single way this experience is meant to unfold. Within a shared space, each person is invited into their own process. What you perceive, what you feel & what arises are uniquely your own. Each modality offers a different doorway for curiosity, self-discovery & deeper listening…an invitation to soften the noise, explore within & recognize what is already there. To become Rooted in Lightis to listen inward, trust what is true within us & grow deeper into who we already are.
WHAT TO BRING
